In that duel, Luke has one of his hands cut off and learns that Darth Vader is his father. Upon arriving at the city, Luke is apprehended by imperial forces, engaging in a lightsaber duel with Darth Vader. He does this despite Yoda and Obi-Wan’s advice against it. Luke quickly strengthens his Jedi powers under Yoda’s tutelage but leaves prematurely after receiving a vision of his friends Han and Leia running into trouble on the Cloud City of Bespin. After the battle, Obi-Wan appears to Luke again, advising him to further his Jedi training under the guidance of Master Yoda in Dagobah. In The Empire Strikes Back, Luke leads rebel forces in the Battle of Hoth, only to be overwhelmed in a crushing defeat. He does so and is hailed as a hero at the end of the battle. While piloting his X-Wing fighter, Luke hears Obi-Wan’s voice, advising him to trust his feelings and use the Force to aid him on his mission to destroy the Death Star.

Afterward doing so, Luke joins the Rebel Alliance’s attack on the Death Star in the Battle of Yavin. Luke teams up with Han Solo and Chewbacca to save Leia Organa on the Death Star. At first, Luke is hesitant to train to become a Jedi, but after stormtroopers raid his home and murder his adoptive parents, Luke agrees to join Obi-Wan and learn from him on the planet of Alderaan. Obi-Wan Kenobi eventually finds Luke on Tattooine and reveals his true heritage to Luke, even giving Luke his father’s original lightsaber. When Luke purchases C-3PO and R2-D2 from a flea market, he discovers a message from Leia Organa imploring for help against the evil Galactic Empire.

Prior to his adventures, Luke lived on Tattooine with his adoptive parents, Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru. He is the son of Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala. Played by Mark Hammill, Luke Skywalker is the main protagonist of Star Wars. In the early 2000s, a prequel trilogy was released, effectively making the original movies Episodes IV, V, and VI respectively. For context, the original trilogy consists of the movies A New Hope (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), and Return of the Jedi (1983). This article is a comprehensive list of all the major Star Wars character names that we have come to know and love today. A New Hope came out in 1977 and became an instant classic around the world. I wrapped it in cellophane and painted the pipe brown. For most people, the original Star Wars trilogy features a memorable cast of characters. My lollipop stick was the most fun part! And my favorite part of the costume! I hand painted a styrofoam circle, which was inserted with a plastic pipe from Lowes. I cut off the wand part and then used a safety pin to stick it on. The lollipop on the side of the corset was originally a wand purchased from party city.

I hand dyed it yellow, and glued on painted pearl stickers (from Joann fabrics) to make it look like candy dots. The corset was originally white, and ordered on ebay. I used pink and yellow rolls, with some additional purple, to make sure the skirt was not see through. The hardest part of making the Princess Lolly costume was definitely the tutu skirt! I worked on it for about a week, and went through about six rolls of tulle (side note: don’t use glitter tulle unless you want to get glitter EVERYWHERE). And I was able to wear it to the Halloween party at the Baltimore Science Center (which benefits local music programs). I looked at different ideas online, and tried to come up with my own take on it.Īll in all, this costume took about two months to put together.
ORIGINAL CANDYLAND CHARACTERS ALL HOW TO
I wasn’t sure how to go about making the costume. For a couple of years now I have wanted to make a Princess Lolly costume from the board game Candyland.
